Super Rare, Super High Value, self identified Sturgis, Montana Territory token.

Very Good Condition. Believed to be a one of a kind.

I. D. Estes was a Hotel Proprietor in Sturgis, Montana Territory prior to 1876. We know this because in 1876 Sturgis, Montana Territory ceased to exist and changed its name to Ryan's Junction to honor James M. Ryan, a general trader. A copy of the towns 1876 Business Directory listing is provided below.

In 1878 Ryan's Junction became Watson and the Watson Post Office was permanently discontinued in 1881.
