Hanging medal commemorating this soldiers return to Butte, Montana in 1899 reads:

The Montana Army National Guard has a rich and proud heritage. Formed in 1885, the First Montana Infantry Regiment was formally organized in 1887 and the first company, located in Virginia City, then went off to fight in the Philippine phase of the Spanish American War.

This ID tag/ token AND accompanying hanging medal commemorating the identified soldiers return to Butte, Montana in 1899 after service in the Philippine Islands are a neat pair of museum quality items.
