The Bergren Brothers - Albert and Julian - have a long history as Saloon & Tavern Proprietors in Kalispell. Their first Saloon was on 1st Avenue at the South East corner of West 2nd and you can find Business Directory listings for that Saloon in the 1912 R. G. Dun Gazetteer.

After Prohibition came along they ran a Pool Hall and you can find a Business Directory Listing for that business, for example, in the 1927 Montana Bradstreet.

Shortly after Prohibition ended in 1933, Julian opened another Saloon/ Tavern and continued to operate that business into the late 1940's. You can find a Business Directory listing for J. Bergrens Tavern, which issued this token, in the 1940 Dun & Bradstreet.
